I'm a songwriter, singer of traditional folk and folklore enthusiast. My album Nightjar was made alongside the Sussex coast with Neill MacColl, Ben Nicholls, and David Tomlins. A tangle of word and melody, old and new, Nightjar evokes journeys along ghostly paths, country lanes and starlit shorelines, alive with shimmering patterns of a flowing tide and quiet murmurs under a pale moon from my corner of the meadow.
In 2023, my unaccompanied version of The Birds in the Spring was the only song featured in Dylan Howitt’s award-winning documentary The Nettle Dress and I opened at key screenings in the UK.
Under a previous signing to Atlantic Records, I had a number one club hit in the US. I have since written and sung for Chalk Horse Music and hosted a radio show covering the music, folklore and social history of Sussex.
